Crystal Barger is the Assistant Director of the University
Training Consortium at Eastern Kentucky University. Crystal is responsible for
the day-to-day operations of the EKU / UTC project including the Professional
Development Support Unit, Media, and Multimedia Services. Crystal is a certified
trainer in Developing a Curriculum (DACUM) Occupational Analysis.
Since 1993, Crystal has conducted various facilitation services including
pre-session design planning, meeting facilitation, report writing and Training
of Trainer sessions. Crystal has facilitated sessions for the Governor's Summit
on Teen Pregnancy Prevention; Georgia Public Safety Training Center; Kentucky
Cabinet for Health and Family Services; Madison County School Board; and private
agencies.
Crystal has extensive experience in conference planning, including national
teleconferences on Domestic Violence and Family Preservation; and weekend
retreats for Kentucky's Independent Living Program for youth in transition.
Crystal holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree and a Master’s Degree
in Career and Technical Education with an emphasis in Occupational Training and
Development from Eastern Kentucky University.
Tammy Cole is the Director of Workforce Education at Eastern
Kentucky University. Prior to this position, Tammy served for 4 years as
Director of the University Training Consortium Project, supervising the daily
operations of training support and development for a large human service
contract.
Tammy served for 6 years as Assistant Director of the Kentucky Educational
Collaborative for the State Agency Children (KECSAC) which contracts with 58
school districts in the state of Kentucky to provide funding and professional
development opportunities for teachers and administrators. Tammy was
instrumental in kicking off the project at its inception in 1993.
Tammy has extensive experience in developing education programs for various
worker groups, event management, conference planning, facilitation, and job
analysis.
Tammy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education and a Masters Degree in
Public Administration, both from Eastern Kentucky University.
Karen Russell is Director of the Facilitation Center. She provides myriad facilitation services including pre-session design planning,
meeting facilitation, and report writing. Karen is a qualified trainer in Group Facilitation Methods (GFM) and provides workshop
training in GFM, Planning and Conducting Great Meetings, and Developing a Curriculum (DACUM) Occupational Analysis.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Community Health Education and an Associate
Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Louisville. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Career and Technical Education
with an emphasis in Occupational Training and Development.
Following a recent meeting, Cheryl Stone, Director of the Center for Economic
Development, Entrepreneurship & Technology at EKU commented, ”Karen is not only
competent at meeting facilitation, she makes it fun”.
Karen Ross is a facilitator with the Facilitation Center at
EKU. Before coming to EKU, Karen was a Program Manager for the Post-Conflict
Development Initiative of the International Rescue Committee in Washington DC.
For the past several years, Karen has facilitated community and dialogue groups
along the East Coast. Her experience includes work with the United Nations,
university dialogue programs, and online facilitation. Karen is a member of the
Global Facilitation Service Corps and a trained mediator.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and a Master’s Degree
in International Affairs / Conflict Resolution from Tufts University.
Dr. Bruce Wolford is Director of the Research and Service
Center at Eastern Kentucky University. The Center provides training, research,
and evaluation services to local, state, and federal agencies. He has served as
a Professor of Correctional and Juvenile Justice Studies in the College of
Justice and Safety at EKU since 1979. Dr. Wolford has authored numerous
publications in the areas of corrections, juvenile justice, and education. Dr.
Wolford has worked in the area of Staff Development & Training for the past 30
years.
Dr. Wolford is a nationally recognized DACUM Occupational Analysis facilitator
and trainer. Dr. Wolford has used the DACUM Storyboarding / Focus Group Method
for over 15 years to analyze worker groups in corrections, juvenile justice,
human services, and other public and private organizations. In 1997, he
developed the National Institute of Corrections DACUM Facilitation Curriculum
Lesson Plans. He has conducted over 100 DACUM facilitations with clients from
over twenty-five states.
As Director of the Research and Service Center, Dr. Wolford leads a team of
certified DACUM facilitators. The Research and Service Center also serves as a
national clearinghouse and facilitation site for the DACUM / Occupational
Analysis process.
